Hi everybody.
Maureen Harte here, artisan weaver and creative adventurer!
Since year 2000 I've been creating with New Zealand Flax / Harakeke, and am best known for my unique circular Koru wall sculpture artworks.
During late 2023 I paused production of these artworks, to adventure overseas and explore Vietnam's basket weaving craft villages. This created great opportunities to connect with and learn from Vietnamese artisans, who weave with bamboo and other local materials.
2024 has brought new opportunities and changes, with a halt to weaving production, to instead pursue academic study this year.
