After graduating with a Diploma of Fine Arts from Canterbury University in 1969, she moved to the Hokianga to live in Kohukohu. Over the last 26 years Marg has developed a large body of work concentrating on the following themes: Social/Community, Maori and rural lifestyles, and abstract landscape/collage.

Marg is a black and white specialist, producing documentary and landscape photography and alternative media and darkroom processes.

Marg has participated in numerous publications and exhibitions and has opened her own gallery in Kohukohu next to Village Arts Gallery in the centre of town.
